American League
East
  • Yankees (4-0): Oswaldo Cabrera played a clutch part in getting wins throughout this series, and Juan Soto led the charge as the Yanks swept their first opening series since 2003.

  • Orioles (2-1): A historic opening for this franchise as they had a 17-run differential through the season's first two games, beating the previous franchise high of 13. 🚀

  • Red Sox (2-2): After waking up with discomfort in his back, Kenley Jensen was surprisingly not available on Saturday night due to back tightness, which opened the door for late-inning heroics from the Mariners.

  • Rays (2-2): Zach Littell, who moved from the bullpen to the rotation, had a strong Saturday outing, going six scoreless innings. Will he be Ray's next out-of-nowhere pitching prospect to ascend to greatness? No. 4 overall prospect Junior Caminero needed to be helped off the field with left quad discomfort after running down the first base line.

  • Blue Jays (2-2): Reliever Génesis Cabrera was ejected on Saturday after shoving a Rays player, which caused benches to clear. He was issued a three-game suspension on Sunday but is appealing it.

Central
  • Tigers (3-0): They had three consecutive one-run wins, opening the season 3-0 for the first time since their last winning season in 2016.

  • Guardians (3-1): Stephen Vogt comes away 3-1 in his first series as manager, and here are some takeaways from his first series at the helm.

  • Twins (2-1): Royce Lewis might be right when he says he might be too electric for his own good. He finds himself back on the IL with a severe quad strain. 🤕

  • Royals (1-2): Bobby Witt Jr. was a double shy of hitting for the cycle by the third inning on Sunday as the Royals hit five total homers on Sunday to beat the Twins 11-0.

  • White Sox (0-3): Luis Robert Jr. hit two homers on Saturday, but it was not enough to give this team the win as they lost in the tenth inning.

West
  • Rangers (2-1): Wyatt Langford’s debut series in the big leagues did not disappoint, as he went 4 for 12 at the plate with three RBIs, two walks, and a triple.

  • Mariners (2-2): Julio Rodriguez hits his first-ever walk-off as he hits a single to right field to drive in the game-winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning on Saturday night.

  • Angels (1-2): After just the season's second game, Ron Washington called for a team meeting. The Angels were down a combined 24-7 through those first two games. They bounced back on Sunday to snag a win and, hopefully, continue on that trend.

  • Athletics (1-3): Paul Blackburn throws seven scoreless innings as the A’s get their first (maybe only?) win of the year as they get a bases-loaded walk to walk it off. 🚶

  • Astros (0-4): With runners in scoring position, the offense went 8-41 (.195), and the bullpen allowed 14 runs in this series. They lost 3 of 4 games by a combined 5 runs.

National League
East
  • Braves (2-1): Scoring 25 runs over 3 games, this offense is rolling yet again. Sean Murphy injured his left oblique swinging for the fences and will be on the IL.

  • Phillies (1-2): Philadelphia breathed a sigh of relief after Bryce Harper, who launched himself over the dugout fence, came up okay. Yesterday, Citizens Bank Park sounded like an October matchup, and the Phils got their first win of the year. 🔉

  • Nationals (1-2): With two outs to go in the bottom of the ninth on Sunday, the Nationals gave up two back-to-back home runs to give the Reds the series win. Nick Senzel was placed on the 10-day IL, and prospect Trey Lipscomb filled in to get his first major league hit, homer, and stolen base during this series.

  • Mets (0-3): A Rhys Hoskins slide into Jeff McNeil on Friday leads to Yohan Ramirez and Carlos Mendoza receiving suspensions, 3 and 1 day, respectively, as Ramirez intentionally threw at Hoskins after he launched a tater earlier on Saturday.

  • Marlins (0-4): Despite an early grand slam from Jazz Chisholm Jr., the Marlins let the lead slip away to lose again in extra innings.

Central
  • Pirates (4-0): Jared Jones struck out 10 and had an MLB debut record of 22 swings & misses since that tracking began in 2008. 🤩

  • Brewers (3-0): After Rhys Hoskins sparked a standoff between benches on Friday due to an aggressive slide towards Jeff McNeil at second base, he launched a tater on Saturday, to which the Mets followed up by intentionally throwing at him, and the Manager and reliever were ejected.

  • Reds (2-1): On Sunday afternoon, in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, Will Benson hit a two-run homer to tie the game, and Christian Encarnacion-Strand launched the second pitch he saw for the series winner against the Nationals.

  • Cubs (1-2): Offseason acquisition Shota Imanaga will make his MLB debut today at Wrigley Field. Justin Steele will miss at least all of April but can hopefully return in May.

  • Cardinals (1-3): Steven Matz has a strong Sunday outing against the Dodgers, allowing just two runs over 5.1 IP, but the bullpen gives up a late lead in the eighth.

West
  • Diamondbacks (3-1): This team came ready to play to start the season with seven homers and 32 total runs over the four-game series against Colorado. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is breaking franchise records with three homers in the first three games. 🔥

  • Dodgers (4-2): Yoshinobu Yamamoto bounces back after a tough first performance, allowing just two hits over five innings and sitting five down on strikes.

  • Padres (3-3): Luis Campusano has come out swinging with nine base hits, six RBIs, five runs scored, and a dinger. Fernando Tatis Jr.'s bat flips are back; he has two season taters.

  • Giants (2-2): In Jordan Hicks’ first start since mid-2022, he goes five shutout innings allowing just three hits and striking out six. Jung Hoo Lee smacks his first career homer, and exchanges autographed baseballs and a nice conversation with the family in exchange for the home run ball.

  • Rockies (1-3): The Rockies' forgetful series should hopefully yield some learning moments for this team.

🥔 Today’s Tater

In the eighth inning of Sunday night baseball, Max Muncy sends a two-run tater with emphasis to right field to give the Dodgers the lead and eventual win over the Cardinals.
