American League
East
Orioles (1-0): Corbin Burnes performed as advertised in his first start in Baltimore. He struck out 11 through six innings, allowing just one run, a solo shot to Mike Trout.
Red Sox (1-0): Tyler O’Neill homers to become the first player to hit a tater in five consecutive Opening Days.
Yankees (1-0): Juan Soto saves the game for the Yanks as he guns down a would-be game-tying run at the plate from right field. 🚀
Blue Jays (1-0): After talking this offseason about being more aggressive on offense, this team comes out hot out of the gate, with three homers and three for nine with RISP.
Rays (0-1): Despite Yandy Diaz's lead-off homer, this offense couldn’t keep up on Opening Day. Zach Eflin didn’t help much, giving up six runs on six hits and three dingers.
Central
Guardians (1-0): On Opening Day, Shane Bieber struck out 11 batters for the third time in his career, becoming the sixth pitcher to have at least three 10-strikeout games to start the season.
Tigers (1-0): This was the Tigers' first-ever 1-0 Opening Day win, dating back to 1901. Tarik Skubal had the most swings and misses on Opening Day, with 20, striking out six through six innings.
Twins (1-0): Royce Lewis picked up where he left off in the playoffs and blasted an Opening Day homer. Unfortunately, on the next AB, he came up limping, rounding the bases, and needed an MRI of his right quad.
White Sox (0-1): Garrett Crochet gave up just one run while striking out eight batters in his first career start. As Larry David likes to say, ‘pretty, pretty good’.
Royals (0-1): Cole Ragans came out dealing as he earned the new record for Royals Opening Day strikeouts after he sat down nine yesterday on strikes. 🔥
West
Rangers(1-0): Jonah Heim walks off a fun comeback win after the Cubs took the lead in the ninth on this foul tip ruled as a passed ball. Adolis Garcia pimps home runs like no other.
Astros (0-1): After getting to Nestor Cortes early with four runs, the offense stalls out and gives up the largest Opening Day comeback win since 1950.
Angels (0-1): The first home run of Opening Day, and just one of two hits this team got yesterday, was this Mike Trout tater to left-center field, which also gave Trout sole possession of the most homers on Opening Day for this franchise.
Athletics (0-1): Opening Day attendance dropped roughly 50% when compared to last year. 🤯
Mariners (0-1): Dylan Moore is just the second Mariner to pinch-hit for a homer on Opening Day after he smacked a two-run dinger to put Seattle within one run.

National League
East
Braves (0-0): This matchup was rained out yesterday but will be made up today, which was a scheduled off day. Here’s a good look at the upcoming NLDS rematch. You know I’ll be watching Spencer Strider start the road to 300k’s.
Mets (0-0): This matchup was rained out yesterday but will be made up today, which was a scheduled off day. Here’s what to expect for this series.
Phillies (0-0): This matchup was rained out yesterday but will be made up today, which was a scheduled off day. Here’s a good look at the upcoming NLDS rematch.
Marlins (0-1): Jesus Luzardo pitched well, striking out eight over five innings, but the Marlins eventually lost in extra innings.

Pirates (1-0): The Oneil Cruz home run party continues as the Pirates get the win in the 12th inning. 🎉
Brewers (0-0): After being rained out yesterday, Jackson Chourio will make his MLB debut today, becoming the fifth youngest player to start on Opening Day since 1969.
Cubs (0-1): Justin Steele will most likely find himself on the IL for a bit after he injured his left hamstring while making a play on a ground ball.
Cardinals (0-1): Yesterday, Paul Goldschmidt went 3 for 4 with a home run, while the rest of the lineup went a combined 0-27. 😬

Dodgers (2-1): Betts, Ohtani, and Freeman each get on base safely three times and score a combined six runs as this team rolls the Cardinals.
Padres (2-1): After giving up the lead in the top of the seventh, they answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning to win.
Rockies (0-1): The Rox gave up a franchise record 14 runs in a single inning and the most runs on Opening Day in franchise history, with 16 runs allowed.
Giants (0-1): Offseason acquisition Jung Hoo Lee gets his first MLB career hit and RBI as the Giants give up a late lead.
🥔 Today’s Tater
Vlad Jr. goes 450ft on 111.8mph exit velo, the longest home run on Opening Day. If he can regain his confidence, we’re in for a lot of mashed taters.
