American League
East
  • Orioles (26-13, v. AZ): Dean Kremer allowed less than three earned runs for the seventh time in eight starts on the year but again did not have the support behind him. Sloppy play led to three additional unearned runs, and Baltimore could not complete the sweep over the Dbacks.

  • Yankees (27-15, @ TB): Luis Gil went six scoreless, allowing just three hits, and the offense blasted a season-high five home runs in Sunday's game to take the series win.

  • Red Sox (21-19, v. WSH): Brayan Bello returned to the mound from the IL with five innings of two-run ball in the series win. Connor Wong, who had only thrown out one potential base stealer, threw out three yesterday, including one to end the game. 💨

  • Rays (20-21, v. NYY): They were held scoreless through six innings but ended up homering twice in the game, including a grand slam from Jose Siri, but they could not match the Yankees offense, falling 10-6.

  • Blue Jays (18-22, v. MIN): Sunday’s game was scoreless until the 7th inning, where Alek Manoah allowed a 3-run shot after a great start to the game. They allowed two more runs and could only score 1 of their own, losing the series to Minnesota.

Central
  • Guardians (25-16, @ CWS): Six shutout innings for Logan Allen and homers from David Fry and Andrés Giménez helped stop their losing streak at three games, shutting out the White Sox in the series finale to win the game 7-0 and avoid being swept by the AL’s worst team.

  • Twins (24-16, @ TOR): They’ve won 17 of their last 20 games as Bailey Ober struck out ten and allowed just one hit in a scoreless six innings. Max Kepler, who had 17 RBI in his previous 19 games, stayed hot, as did Carlos Santana, who homered for the third time in as many games, helping the Twins win 5-1.

  • Royals (25-17, @ LAA): Seth Lugo, who has lowered his ERA to just 1.66 this season, was in good company Sunday as he became the second-ever Royals pitcher to throw eight or more innings while striking out 12+ and not walking a single batter, joining Zack Greinke who did it in 2010. They won 4-2, taking the series on Sunday. 🔥

  • Tigers (20-20, v. HOU): Spencer Torkelson hit his first homer of the season and his first since September of last year; unfortunately, that was overshadowed by allowing 18 hits and nine runs while being held scoreless until the 9th in Sunday’s series loss.

  • White Sox (12-29, v. CLE): After winning four straight games for the first time this season, Chicago went 0-7 with RISP and could not score any runs in this 7-0 loss to the Guardians. They still did manage to win the series against the AL Central leaders.

West
  • Mariners🔼(22-19, v. OAK): They’ve won seven out of their last eight series with an 8-4 win over Oakland on Sunday. They got help at the plate from Julio Rodriguez, Seby Zavala, and Mitch Garver, who all homered in the game, and a quality start on the mound from Luis Castillo as they moved back into first place in the West.

  • Rangers🔽(22-20, @ COL): It was a tough series for the Rangers as they were swept by the Rockies, and now both of their young Left Fielders are hurt as Evan Carter missed Sunday’s game and will see a specialist to deal with tightness in his back. 🤕

  • Athletics (19-23, @ SEA): They allowed eight runs twice in this series and scored eight once as they lost the game and the series on Sunday. Mason Miller is getting interest from other teams around the league looking to contend, but reports say Oakland is looking for a steep package in return for the 25-year-old closer.

  • Astros🔼(15-25, @ DET): Kyle Tucker is now the sole leader of home runs this year, as he hit his 13th on Sunday. His homer was one of 18 hits by the Astros on Sunday as Justin Verlander got more help than he needed, throwing seven scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out eight.

  • Angels🔽(15-26, v. KC): Mike Trout still has no timetable for return but is “feeling better every day” after getting surgery to repair his torn meniscus. The Angels could have used his bat on Sunday as they struck out 12 times and could not even up the four-game series.

East
  • Phillies (28-13, @ MIA): Zack Wheeler had a rough day on Sunday, going just four innings while allowing six earned runs. The Phillies, who have scored the second most runs in baseball, were able to send it to extra innings but ended up losing the game.

  • Braves (24-13, @ NYM): After winning four straight games with scoring four or more runs, they managed just one extra-base hit on Sunday as they dropped the potential sweep in the bottom of the ninth as A.J. Minter allowed a two-run walk-off homer. Austin Riley was injured on Sunday and should know more today.

  • Mets (19-20, v. ATL): Brandon Nimmo, who nearly sat out this game, hit the two-run walk-off homer against Atlanta to avoid a sweep. They’ll move from hosting one division foe to another as the Phillies come to town. 🤺

  • Nationals (19-20, @ BOS): They dropped the next two games after winning the series opener on Friday. Eddie Rosario was hitting just .053 with no home runs or RBIs in April and is now hitting .435 with four home runs and 7 RBIs through 12 days of May.

  • Marlins (11-31, v. PHI): With an extra innings win on Sunday, they were able to snap a five-game losing streak and avoid a series sweep. Braxton Garrett made his season debut but allowed five runs through 5.1 innings of work.

Central
  • Brewers (24-16, v. STL): After winning the series' first three games, the Brew Crew could not complete the sweep as this top-five team in Slugging Percentage failed to get an extra base hit on Sunday.

  • Cubs (24-17, @ PIT): Kyle Hendricks returned from the IL on Sunday with five innings of one-run ball. Christopher Morel hit his ninth homer of the year as the Cubs had to take it to extras to come away with the series win.

  • Pirates (18-23, v. CHC): Oneil Cruz hit his fourth homer of the month and is now batting .353/.389/.794 through May. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for the Bucs to avoid Sunday's first extra innings loss of the year. They were 4-0 before yesterday in extra innings.

  • Reds (17-23, @ SF): They snapped their eight-game losing streak on Friday to open the series with a victory but dropped the next two games and will now continue their road trip for three games in AZ and four in LA. Elly De La Cruz leads the majors with 25 stolen bases; the next highest total is 16. 🏃‍♂️

  • Cardinals (16-24, @ MIL): Paul Goldschmidt hit his first homer of the month on Sunday, which helped St. Louis avoid a four-game sweep and stop their seven-game losing streak.

West
  • Dodgers (27-15, @ SD): After a shutout win on Saturday, they were shutout Sunday in Walker Buehler’s second game back since ‘22, where he allowed three runs in 3.1 IP.

  • Padres (22-21, v. LAD): Yu Darvish threw seven scoreless innings in the combined shutout to secure the series win over the division leader. Jake Cronenworth, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Xander Bogaerts hit a solo homer on Sunday. 💥

  • Diamondbacks (19-22, v. BAL): Zac Gallen threw six innings of two-run ball on Sunday as the offense backed him up with nine runs to avoid the sweep in Baltimore. After going 4-2 on their road trip, they’ll head home for a six-game homestand.

  • Giants (19-23, v. CIN): Jung Hoo Lee dislocated his shoulder on Sunday as the Giants walked it off in extra innings to seal the series win.

  • Rockies (12-28, v. TEX): The first series sweep of the season came against the defending WS Champs, just as we all expected. They extended their season-long win streak to four while not allowing more than three runs.
