  • Yankees (45-19, v. MIN): Aaron Judge had five RBIs on Wednesday as Carlos Rodón won his eighth game of the year. Marcus Stroman allowed five earned runs in 4.2 innings on Thursday, marking 64 straight games with the starting pitchers going 4+ innings. This is their longest such streak at any point in an individual season. The Yankees extended their win streak to eight games, their longest of the season, but Juan Soto didn’t return after the rain delay due to forearm soreness. 😬

  • Orioles (39-22, @ TOR): In Wednesday's game, the score was tied at two going into the ninth inning. However, Craig Kimbrel came in to give up two hits and the game-winning run. On Thursday, the organization's ninth-ranked prospect, Cade Povich, made his MLB debut but gave up all six of the Blue Jays' runs, and they were unable to overcome that despite two homers from Adley Rutschman.

  • Red Sox (32-31, v. ATL/@ CWS): Nick Pivetta went seven scoreless innings while allowing just one hit, while Rafael Devers smacked two homers in the shutout win on Wednesday. They posted a season-high 24 hits on Thursday in a rout of Chicago as Ceddanne Rafaela knocked in four RBIs.

  • Rays (31-31, @ MIA): Zach Eflin went four innings while allowing two runs in his first start since May 18th due to being placed on the IL. Isaac Paredes doubled twice as he drove in three runs to cap off the sweep.

  • Blue Jays (30-32, v. BAL): Isiah Kiner-Falefa singled twice on Wednesday to drive in two of the team’s three runs, including the game-winning run. He followed that up with another RBI single in Thursday’s win as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a three-run tater as they won their second consecutive one-run game to force the series split.

Central
  • Guardians (40-20, v. KC): Due to inclement weather, Wednesday's game was postponed to August 26. José Ramírez scored two early RBIs, including a solo homer, giving the team an early lead. Unfortunately, the bullpen's scoreless inning streak of 26 ended in the eighth inning when Hunter Gaddis allowed the game-winning run.

  • Royals (37-26, @ CLE): Kansas City successfully challenged a tag call at home plate when MJ Melendez dove over the Guardian's catcher to score the game-tying play. Kyle Isbel hit the go-ahead RBI, his second of the day, forcing a split of the two-game series.

  • Twins (33-29, @ NYY): While the offense scored five runs in back-to-back games, Chris Paddack and Pablo López had similar performances of seven runs allowed in four innings as they were swept by the Yankees for the second time this year. 🫣

  • Tigers (31-31, @ TEX): Kenta Maeda left the game after two pitches due to abdominal discomfort and will undergo further testing. The bullpen allowed nine runs, and the team only got two hits, one of which was Justyn-Henry Malloy's first career hit, a solo home run.

  • White Sox (15-48, @ CHC/v. BOS): Hug a White Sox fan if you see one, it’s a tough time for them as they’re now on their worst losing streak in franchise history. After having a four-run lead through four innings on Wednesday, they allowed the North Siders to come back and walk it off in the ninth. They allowed the most runs of their season, 14, yesterday and will look to snap that losing streak with Garrett Crochet on the mound today.

West
  • Mariners (36-28, @ OAK): On Wednesday, Julio Rodríguez hit a 102.5 mph fastball from Mason Miller for a home run, tying the third-fastest pitch for a homer since '08. Unfortunately, that was the only run of the day, and they could not extend their win streak to five. However, on Thursday, Bryan Woo threw six scoreless innings in a shutout series win, earning his sixth win of the year. He now has the lowest ERA through the first six starts in a season, beating out Randy Johnson. 🤩

  • Rangers (30-32, v. DET): A solo homer was the only hit allowed by José Ureña, who earned his second win of the season to lead his team to avoid the sweep. Corey Seager grabbed at his left hamstring after hitting an RBI single and was removed from the game, but he should be back soon as there were no plans for an MRI.

  • Astros (28-35, v. STL): Yainer Diaz homered for the third straight game, and Trey Cabbage hit a solo homer in the very next at-bat. However, those two runs were all the offense put up, as Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker were absent. Ronel Blanco took his second consecutive loss, allowing four runs in 5.2 innings.

  • Athletics (25-39, v. SEA): Joey Estes logged his second career win on Wednesday as he went 6.1 scoreless innings while allowing just one hit. They were held to just two hits on Thursday to drop their fourth straight series.

  • Angels (24-38, v. SD): Nolan Schanuel and Zach Neto both homered in their second one-run win of the series to seal their first home sweep since July ‘23.

  • Phillies (44-19, v. MIL): After getting only three hits in the game, the team secured their sixth win out of the last seven games with a crucial two-run homer by Nick Castellanos in the fifth inning, leading them to sweep the series. Next stop, London. 🛫

  • Braves (35-25, @ BOS/@ WSH): Austin Riley had their lone hit of the day in a shutout loss to Boston, where they allowed nine runs. Marcell Ozuna delivered his 18th tater of the season to drive in two runs, helping secure the series-opening win.

  • Mets🔼(27-35, @ WSH): They completed their first sweep since mid-April, with Luis Severino pitching eight innings of one-run ball. The offense capitalized on the matchup against Patrick Corbin, as Francisco Lindor hit his tenth homer of the year, and Luis Torrens hit his first two. They are off to London for a two-game series against Philadelphia, hoping to improve their 11-24 record against teams with a record above .500.

  • Nationals🔽(27-35, v. NYM/v. ATL): Patrick Corbin was hit hard on Wednesday, allowing six runs through 5.1 innings as he took the loss. They lost their fourth straight game on Thursday, scoring two runs on solo shots from CJ Abrams and Lane Thomas.

  • Marlins (21-41, v. TB): Braxton Garrett got hit for five runs in 2.2 innings, and even though the bullpen didn't allow any more runs, the offense only managed to put up three runs in the loss.

Central
  • Brewers (36-26, @ PHI): They tied their season-long losing streak on Wednesday as they were swept for the first time this year after tallying just three hits and failing to score for the fourth time. 😞

  • Cubs (31-32, v. CWS): Jameson Taillon allowed ten hits and five runs through five innings in another 7-6 finish on Wednesday as Mike Tauchman delivered the walk-off win to sweep the White Sox. They had another rough starting pitcher performance on Thursday as Javier Assad allowed five runs in 5.2 innings, and the offense couldn’t overcome that deficit.

  • Reds🔼🔼(30-33, @ COL/v. CHC): Home runs from Jeimer Candelario, TJ Friedl, Spencer Steer, and a grand slam from Jonathan India helped finish off the sweep of Colorado on Wednesday. After Thursday’s win, where Elly De La Cruz homered one year after making his MLB debut, they advanced to their season-long win streak (5).

  • Cardinals🔽(28-31, @ HOU/v. COL): Nolan Arenado hit his sixth homer of the year in Wednesday’s win to avoid the sweep against Houston. Sonny Gray lost his second start of the month, allowing all three of Colorado’s runs while the offense left 11 on base.

  • Pirates🔽(28-32, v. LAD): They scored ten runs on Wednesday as Paul Skenes got his third win to secure the series over the Dodgers, thanks partly to four RBIs from Nick Gonzales. Unfortunately, they followed that up with their most runs allowed of the season (11) in a game where Oneil Cruz hit the ball 462 feet out of the park.

West
  • Dodgers (39-25, @ PIT): Shohei Ohtani struck out to Paul Skenes in his first at-bat but returned to the plate to take Skenes deep for a two-run homer in Wednesday’s loss. They avoided the sweep on Thursday on the back of home runs from Freddie Freeman, Teoscar Hernández, and Mookie Betts to put up 11 runs. 💥

  • Padres (32-34, @ LAA/v. AZ): San Diego lost back-to-back one-run games as they tied their season-high fifth consecutive loss on Thursday. In both games, they scored all of their runs in one inning, with two and three runs scored, respectively, falling to 6-10 in one-run games. Fernando Tatis Jr. extended his MLB-leading active hit streak to 12 on Thursday.

  • Diamondbacks (30-33, v. SF/@ SD): Jordan Montgomery lost his second straight game, giving up six runs in two innings. The Dbacks couldn’t overcome that deficit, dropping the potential sweep of San Francisco. Gabriel Moreno and Eugenio Suárez both hit solo homers in the second inning, which helped them edge out the Padres.

  • Giants (30-33, @ AZ): They snapped their season-long losing streak on Wednesday with a two-run homer from Heliot Ramos in the third, followed by a grand slam from Wilmer Flores.

  • Rockies (22-40, v. CIN/@ STL): Elias Díaz and Brendan Rodgers both drove in three runs in their fifth straight loss on Wednesday. They snapped that streak on Thursday thanks to Michael Toglia robbing a homer in his first game back from Triple-A.
