American League
East
Yankees (39-19, @ LAA): Luis Gil threw eight innings of one-run ball on Wednesday to bring his ERA to 1.99 on the year. Even though Anthony Volpe’s MLB-long 21-game hit ended on Thursday, they still managed to win on the back of Aaron Judge’s 18th homer of the year and a three-run triple from Juan Soto.
Orioles (35-19, v. BOS): Gunnar Henderson tied the home run lead on Wednesday when he hit his 18th of the year, a grand slam. Corbin Burnes threw seven innings and allowed one unearned run while sitting five down on strikes, leading them to a series win.
Red Sox (28-29, @ BAL/v. DET): After scoring just one run in the series loss to Baltimore, they failed to score at all on Thursday in the series opener against Detroit. Nick Pivetta tied Roger Clemens for a franchise record on Thursday with eight consecutive strikeouts.
Rays (28-29, v. OAK): They had two consecutive walk-off wins on Wednesday and Thursday, and Jose Siri played a pivotal role in both. On Wednesday, Siri robbed a potential game-winning hit from the A’s in the top of the ninth, and then he came up to bat in the bottom of the inning and hit a walk-off single. Then, on Thursday, Siri found himself at the plate in the bottom of the ninth again and hit a game-tying home run off Mason Miller, marking his second homer of the day.
Blue Jays (26-29, @ CWS): Despite Alek Manoah only going 1.2 innings before exiting due to elbow discomfort, they were able to piece together a six-pitcher win with some clutch hitting as they went 3-for-9 with RISP to finish off their first series sweep of the year. Yesterday, they unveiled their City Connect jerseys.
Central
Guardians (37-19, @ COL): A four-series win streak came to an end on Wednesday after Logan Allen allowed seven earned runs through 1.2 innings. Luckily, they’ll head home for six games, where they have an MLB-best win percentage (.750).
Royals (35-23, @ MIN): Nelson Velázquez homered twice on Wednesday, while Seth Lugo got the win by throwing six innings of one-run ball, which lowered his ERA to an MLB-best 1.72. They scored six runs for the second straight day on Thursday, but that wasn’t enough, allowing seven runs to drop the series.
Twins (31-25, v. KC): Bailey Ober took his third loss of the year on Wednesday, allowing six earned runs over five innings while the offense put up just one run in their lone series loss. They allowed 5+ runs for the fourth time in their last five games on Thursday but escaped with a win thanks partly to a two-homer, three-RBI day from Ryan Jeffers. 💪
Tigers (28-28, v. PIT/@ BOS): In a doubleheader on Wednesday, they won the first game by eight runs in a shutout but followed that up by losing the second game by eight runs. They had two stellar pitching performances, one by Tarik Skubal, who went seven scoreless on Wednesday afternoon while striking out eight, and Jack Flaherty threw 6.2 scoreless innings yesterday and one-upped Skubal with nine Ks.
White Sox (15-42, v. TOR): They waited until there was one out left in the game on Wednesday before scoring their only run of the day, a solo shot by Korey Lee, in their season-high eighth straight loss. Well, at least they had at least three more wins in May than they did in April.

West
Mariners (31-27, v. HOU): They tied their season-long win streak (4) on Wednesday in the tenth inning despite tallying just four hits on the day. The lack of offense caught up to them on Thursday as they had four hits again, this time failing to score a run, while Logan Gilbert allowed four earned runs over six innings.
Rangers (27-29, v. AZ): Two innings after being intentionally walked, Corey Seager extended his hit streak to 12 games with another big home run against Arizona to help his team finish off a two-game sweep.
Astros (25-32, @ SEA): Justin Verlander struck out nine over seven innings while allowing just one run on Wednesday, but the offense scored just one run in an extra-innings loss. They didn’t let another stellar pitching performance slip by them on Thursday as Spencer Arrighetti threw six scoreless innings, and Alex Bregman hit his sixth tater of the year to avoid the series sweep.
Athletics (23-35, @ TB): Since they were last .500 on May 4th, their record has been 6-18 despite having the seventh most runs scored in May. Mason Miller allowed his first home run of the year on Thursday to send the game to extra innings, where they were walked off for the second straight day. 😞
Angels (21-35, v. NYY): Despite Logan O’Hoppe homering on Wednesday and Thursday, this team couldn’t get enough offense to keep up with the Yankees. Kevin Pillar extended his hit streak to 12 games on Thursday.

National League
East
Phillies (39-18, @ SF): Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos both homered on Wednesday to nip their season-long losing streak in the bud and avoid getting swept for the first time this year. J.T. Realmuto currently sits on MLB's third-longest active hit streak at 17 consecutive games. 📈
Braves (31-23, v. WSH): They lost on Wednesday and Thursday, scoring three total runs and going 1-for-15 with RISP over the two games. Even though they’ve gone 5-10 over their last 15 games, they’ll face an Athletics team this weekend that is struggling worse.
Nationals (26-29, @ ATL): Lane Thomas hit his third homer of the year as McKenzie Gore went 5.1 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) and sitting ten down on strikes to get the win on Wednesday. On Thursday, they had another strong pitching performance to win the series as Trevor Williams advanced to 5-0 on the year with the 11th-lowest ERA among qualified pitchers.
Mets (23-33, v. LAD/v. AZ): In Wednesday's loss, Jore Lopez was ejected from the game, tossed his glove into the stands, made some controversial comments following the game, and was designated for assignment shortly after. Luckily, a struggling Dbacks team came to town, where the Mets could squeeze out a one-run win on Thursday thanks to a 4-for-4 game with two RBIs from Francisco Lindor.
Marlins (20-37, @ SD): After scoring just one run total in the last two games of the series, they avoided a sweep on Wednesday by tallying a season-high 16 hits, leading to nine runs. Braxton Garrett went five innings, allowing just one run, which was a solo homer.
Central
Brewers (33-23, v. CHC): On Wednesday, Christian Yelich, Willy Adames, and Blake Perkins all homered to lead them to victory. Gary Sanchez drove in half of the team’s runs and hit the game-winning two-run home run in the eighth inning to win the series on Thursday.
Cardinals🔼(27-27, @ CIN): Masyn Winn extended his hit streak to 18 games in the series rubber match win. Matt Carpenter hit his first tater of the year, Nolan Gorman hit his tenth, while Andre Pallante got his first win.
Cubs🔽(28-29, @ MIL): Shota Imanaga took his first loss in his worst start yet on Wednesday, allowing seven runs, more than 3x of his previous high of two earned runs allowed. Home runs from Cody Bellinger, Seiya Suzuki, and Christopher Morel were not enough on Thursday as they dropped the series and are now 10-17 in May after going 17-10 in April.
Pirates (26-30, @ DET): Jared Jones allowed seven runs, five of which were earned, in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday. The team got shut out. However, in the second game, Paul Skenes, who was pitching on his birthday, struck out nine batters in six innings, and the team's offense scored ten runs to secure the win. 🥳
Reds (24-32, v. STL): TJ Friedl returned to the field on Wednesday for the first time since May 12th and just his seventh game of the year. He had two walks and no hits in the loss. This team is looking forward to the calendar month changing as, depending on the result of today's game, they will have their worst month since either April or September of ‘22.
West
Dodgers (36-22, @ NYM): Wednesday’s game was tied up at three a piece until the eighth inning, where Shohei Ohtani hit his 14th homer of the season, and Will Smith hit his second of the game and 100th as a Dodger to help seal the series sweep. 💥
Giants (29-28, v. PHI): Kyle Harrison threw over 100 pitches for the first time in Wednesday’s loss. He allowed 12 hits and four earned runs through five innings while the offense waited until the ninth inning to score their only run of the day.
Padres (30-29, v. MIA): In a game where they could have secured their first series sweep of the season, they allowed nine runs while going 0-for-3 with RISP, unable to get the win. Yu Darvish exited the game after finishing the third inning with left hamstring tightness after allowing three runs, two of which were earned.
Diamondbacks (25-31, @ TEX/@ NYM): Ryne Nelson gave up four earned runs in six innings against Texas on Wednesday, and the team only managed to score one run in the loss. On Thursday, the team suffered its fourth consecutive loss, scoring only two runs and ranking third to last in runs scored in MLB during May. Unfortunately, Zac Gallen had to leave the game after throwing just six pitches due to a right hamstring injury, which will likely require him to be placed on the injured list.
Rockies (20-35, v. CLE): They scored seven or more runs for the third straight game after a six-run second inning on Wednesday. Ty Blach threw seven innings of two-run ball, which helped lead this team to their second straight series win.
