In a Heartwarming Off-Field Play, Arizona's Finest Share Their Postseason Bounty with the Unsung Heroes Behind the Scenes
In the latest feel-good story out of the ballpark, the Arizona Diamondbacks' unsung heroes – think food-room attendants and other support staff – are in for a sweet surprise. These behind-the-scenes MVPs are about to get a slice of the postseason pie, courtesy of the team's players. Third baseman Evan Longoria spilled the beans, hinting that some unexpected checks are going to make their way into mailboxes. This isn't just chump change we're talking about; the D-backs, who rocked the National League unexpectedly, decided to divvy up their playoff spoils with 71 full shares worth a cool $313,634 each, and some partial shares to boot. Talk about hitting a financial home run!
Now, this isn't just a Diamondbacks thing. Across the league, players are showing they've got hearts as big as their bats when it comes to sharing postseason loot. Freddie Freeman of the Dodgers, and Rhys Hoskins of the… hopefully he signs somewhere soon, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the importance of spreading the wealth, especially to those who've been grinding it out during the team's droughts. Longoria, a seasoned pro, took the lead in ensuring fair play in the distribution, even advocating for the lesser-known players and staff who don't pull in the big bucks. It's a team effort, after all, and this gesture is a grand slam in showing appreciation for everyone who contributes to the game, whether on the field or behind the scenes. As someone who was lucky enough to get to go to a World Series game, the Chase Field staff did a great job, good for them and hopefully, this will do some good.
